Please be assured that there are many in the
University and the community who support you, but who lack the courage to voice
their convictions publicly. Forgive those of us who are afraid to stand up for
what we know is right; we do ourselves and you a great disservice by our
silence...For the courage your example has given, thank you. For my silence, I
make an ashamed apology...
